Logo list

This guide describes setting up the Logo list section.

Use the section on a store page to display a list of logos associated with store items.

In the previous video, a Logo list section is displayed on a store's homepage. On the left, the section's checkbox option Invert on dark background is set to on. As the page is scrolled, the section's background color changes. This setting matches the color of the section's logos to the changing background color.

Set up a logo list section

To set up a Logo list section:

  1. Go to Customize theme. At the top of the page, use the dropdown to select a template that contains a Logo list section. For example, select the Home page template.

    Note

    The section can be added into any page, except Checkout and Giftcard pages. To add the section into the current page, select Add section > Logo list. Refer to Shopify help: Add a section

  2. From the side menu, select Logo list.

  3. Select a setting described in the following table.

Setting nameDescription
HeadingIn the Heading box, enter text to display as a heading (title) inside the section.
SubheadingIn the Subheading box, enter text to display as subheading text inside the section. Format the text, and/ or add links, using the Text editor pane.
Subheading > Insert dynamic sourceTo display subheading text from a dynamic source, select the Insert dynamic source icon beside the Subheading box, and then choose a metafield to add. Refer to Shopify help: Metafields
Logo max widthAdjust the slider Logo max width to set a maximum width for logos inside the section between 50px and 500px (pixels).
Logo color > Make grayscaleSelect the Make grayscale checkbox to turn on/off gray scale mode for images inside the section. Gray scale mode displays images using shades of gray.
Logo color > Blend with backgroundSelect the checkbox Blend with background to turn on/off background blending mode for images inside the section. Background blending mode colorizes images to match the section's background color.
Logo color > Invert on dark backgroundSelect the checkbox Invert on dark background to turn on/off invert mode for images inside the section. Invert mode colorizes images to match the section's background color, if the section's background is set to use a dark color. Invert mode converts each color in an image to its opposite color (or "inverse" color).
Color > Color schemeUse the Color scheme dropdown to set the section's color scheme to Primary, Secondary, or Tertiary. Refer to Colors.
Color > Disable transitionSelect the checkbox Disable transition to turn on/off overriding the color transitions set in the section's theme settings. Setup defaults for this setting in Theme Settings > Colors > Transitions.
Spacing > Remove top paddingSelect the checkbox Remove top padding to add/remove the spacing (padding) that's displayed above the section. Refer to W3 Schools: CSS Padding
Spacing > Remove bottom paddingSelect the checkbox Remove bottom padding to add/remove the spacing (padding) that's displayed below the section. Refer to W3 Schools: CSS Padding
Theme settingsSelect Theme settings to access additional settings for the section. Refer to Section theme settings menu.
Remove sectionSelect Remove section to delete the section from the current page.

Configure a block within a logo list section

A default logo list section contains 5 logos (blocks). To configure a block inside the section:

  1. Go to Customize theme. At the top of the page, use the dropdown to select a template that contains a Logo list section.

  2. From the side menu, expand the Logo list section menu.

  3. To configure an existing block, select the block from the side menu.

    To add a new block, select Add logo, and then select the block you added.

    Inside the section, you can add, remove, show/ hide, or move blocks. Refer to Configure blocks inside a section, and Shopify help: Sections and blocks

  4. Apply a block setting described in the following table.

ImageUse the following Image selector options to set up an image to use as a logo, inside the block.
  • To add an image, choose Select image, and then upload an image or select an image file from your store's file library.
  • To add a focal point to an image, select Edit in the image selector's thumbnail preview area, and then select Add focal point. Refer to Shopify help: Add a focal point to an image, and Edit an image inside a section or block.
  • To add "alt text" to an image, select Edit, and then enter a brief description of the image into the Image alt text box. The description improves search engine optimization (SEO), and provides greater accessibility for customers who use screen-reading tools. The text is saved immediately.   • To download an image, select Edit > Download.
  • To replace an image, choose Change > Change image, and then select or upload a new image.
  • To remove an image, select Change > Remove image.
  • To display an image from a dynamic source, select the Change > Connect dynamic source, and then choose a metafield to add. Refer to Shopify help: Metafields

LinkIn the Link (optional) box, enter a URL for the block to use, or select a link to a store page. The link opens when a store visitor selects the block. To remove a link, select the X icon inside the box.

Remove blockSelect Remove block to delete the block from the current section.
