# Gallery

This guide describes setting up your store’s Gallery section. Use the section to display a selection of images on your store’s pages.

In the following video, the checkbox option is enabled to display images at Full width inside the section. With this option set to off (default), a border is displayed around each image in the section. With this option set to on, the border is not displayed.

To set up a gallery section:

  1. Go to Customize theme. At the top of the page, use the dropdown to select a template that contains a gallery section. For example, select the Home page template.

    Note

    The gallery section can be added into any page, except Checkout and Giftcard pages. To add a gallery section into the current page, select Add section > Gallery. Refer to Shopify help: Add a section (opens new window).

  2. From the side menu, select Gallery.

  3. Select a section setting described in the following table.

Section setting name Description
Heading Use the Heading box to enter text to display as a title inside the section.
Text size Use the Text size dropdown to set a size for text inside the section. The dropdown options are: Small, Medium, and Large. Refer to Typography.
Full width Select the Full width checkbox to turn on/off displaying a border around images inside the section.
Images per row - desktop Select the dropdown Images per row to set the number of images to display within each row, inside the section. The minimum number is 2 and the maximum is 4. This setting applies only to desktop display devices.
Crop images Select the Crop images dropdown to set the shape of the images inside the section. The dropdown options are: No crop, Landscape, Square and Portrait.
Color > Color scheme Use the Color scheme dropdown to set the color scheme for the section to Primary, Secondary or Tertiary. Refer to Colors.
Theme settings Select Theme Settings to access additional settings for the section. Refer to Section theme settings menu.
Remove section Select Remove section to delete the section from the current page template.

A default gallery section contains six image (blocks). To configure an image block inside a gallery section:

  1. Go to Customize theme. At the top of the page, use the dropdown to select a template that contains an gallery section. For example, select the Home page template.

  2. From the side menu, expand the Gallery section menu.

  3. To configure an existing image block, select the Image block from the side menu.

    To add a new image block, select Add block, choose Image, and then select the Image block you added.

    Inside a gallery section, you can add, remove, show/ hide, or move blocks. Refer to Configure blocks inside a section, or Shopify help: Sections and blocks (opens new window).

  4. Apply the block settings described in the following table.

Block setting name Description
Image Use the Image menu options to set up an image inside the block.
  • To add an image, choose Select Image, and then upload an image or select an image file from your store’s file library.
  • To replace an image, choose Change > Change image, and then select or upload a new image.
  • To remove an image, select Change > Remove image.
Image alignment Select the Image alignment dropdown to set a position for the image inside the block. This setting applies only if image cropping is enabled. The dropdown options are Top left, Top center, Top right, Middle left, Middle center, Middle right, Bottom left, Bottom center and Bottom right.
Caption (optional) Use the Caption box to enter text to display inside the block. The image is overlaid with the text you enter.
Link (optional) In the Link box, enter a URL for the caption text to use or select a store page to link to. To remove a link, select the X icon inside the text box.
Remove block Select Remove block to delete the block from the current section.
