We're updating Baseline documentation

We're currently updating our Baseline theme version 5 documentation. This site provides general guidance that applies to all Baseline presets (including Courier, Brutalist, Austere, and Press). Our v5-specific documentation is being finalized.

Please check back soon for updates.

In the meantime, you can refer to documentation for previous Baseline releases:

Please be advised that older documentation may not reference newly available options for Baseline v5 theme templates, settings, sections, and blocks.

How to use Baseline documentation

We arranged our user guides into the categories described in the following table. For guidance with using Baseline, follow the links in the table or select a user guide from the left side menu.

Install Baseline

To install Baseline, complete the following steps.

  1. On your store's Shopify admin page, locate the Sales channels > Online store > Themes area.

  2. From the Import theme dropdown, select Visit Theme store to open the Shopify Theme store.

  3. In the Search field, enter Baseline as the search term, and then select Baseline from the search results.

  4. On the Baseline theme details page, select Try theme.

  5. After Shopify adds Baseline, confirm that Baseline is listed in the Themes area of your store's Shopify admin. Refresh the page, if necessary.

  6. In the Themes area listing for Baseline, select an option described in the following table.

    Note

    * Indicates an option that's available only after you purchase Baseline.

    ... refers to the ellipsis icon (three consecutive dots).

BuyPurchase the selected theme from Shopify's Theme store.
Publish *Apply a theme to your store.
Edit themeAdjust the selected theme's Theme settings and sections, to customize your store.
